Our stand up paddleboarding classes take place at Lake Wheeler and Lake Johnson in Raleigh. All classes meet at the lakes. Reservations are required for all SUP classes.

DIRECTIONS TO LAKE WHEELER
ADDRESS: Lake Wheeler, 6404 Lake Wheeler Rd, Raleigh, NC 27603.
PARKING: Park in the closest parking lot to the lake and meet on the sandy beach behind the waterfront boat rental/concession facility.
DRIVING DIRECTIONS (From I-40 in Raleigh):
- Take exit 297 (Lake Wheeler Rd) South.
- Lake Wheeler is approximately 4.5 miles from I-40.
- Stay on Lake Wheeler Rd, crossing Tryon Rd, and continuing several miles to the park entrance on the righthand side.
- Once through the entrance gate (there is no entrance fee), stay on the long winding road to the waterfront.
- Park in the closest lot to the waterfront.
- Please note that the lake can only be accessed via Lake Wheeler Rd.
DIRECTIONS TO LAKE JOHNSON
ADDRESS: Lake Johnson, 4601 Avent Ferry Rd, Raleigh, NC 27606.
PARKING: Park in the closest parking lot. There are two small lots at Lake Johnson which can (and do) fill up. Please allow plenty of extra time to park. Meet on the sandy beach behind/to the left of the main building. NOTE: If the main parking lot is full, there is a secondary lot off Avent Ferry Rd. Turn left exiting the main parking lot, cross over the bridge (over the lake), and you'll see the secondary lot on the lefthand side, just past the lake.
DRIVING DIRECTIONS (From I-40 in Raleigh):
- Take exit 295 (Gorman St) off of I-40.
- From Gorman St, head south (away from NC State).
- At the intersection of Gorman St and Tryon Rd, turn right onto Tryon Rd.
- Travel approximately 1 mile and take a right onto Avent Ferry Rd.
- After awhile, you will cross a bridge and go over the lake. Lake Johnson Park entrance (there is no entrance fee) will be on the right immediately after the bridge.
